Strengthening social innovation in regional innovation ecosystems

tools and key learnings from the RESIST project

Join us to explore practical ways to strengthen social innovation and support social entrepreneurs.  Drawing on insights from the RESIST project, this interactive webinar offers hands-on tools and concrete examples of how to open up existing innovation systems and make them more inclusive and impactful.  The following tools and approaches will be presented:

  • A practical guide for building clusters for social innovation
  • Mission-oriented approaches to shaping regional innovation strategies
  • Methods to measure and demonstrate social impact
  • Real-life examples from regional and transnational “strategy labs” influencing policy and funding frameworks

After presentations of the tools, there will be discussion about how the tools and approaches can be used and disseminated by the participating organisations.  We especially invite National Competence Centres for Social Innovation (NCCSI) from the European member states, but anyone interested in finding and further developing tools to support social innovation are welcome.

Regional Ecosystems for Social Innovation and Social Transformation

The purpose of the EU-funded Interreg project Regional Ecosystems for Social Innovation and Social Transformation (RESIST) is to create better conditions for social innovation and social entrepreneurs in the Baltic Sea region. Through regional authorities, business development support organizations, and civil society organizations, a model is being developed to promote regional ecosystems for social innovation. Existing innovation support systems are being opened up to social innovators and entrepreneurs.

The project works with two solutions:

  • A model for defining ecosystems locally and how these can be supported and developed.
  • A capacity-building program for actors within existing support systems, enabling them to strengthen their ability to support social innovation.

Mötesplats Social Innovation coordinates various parts of the work packages within RESIST and contributes knowledge and experience in the field of social innovation. RESIST is an INTERREG Baltic Sea Region project.
